Neptunes island11/6/2023 The way every day was planned to make the best of this absolutely beautiful and mysterious island was another highlight. If we had one complaint, it would be that we had too much good food. The barista/bartender was expert, and the chef great at using local ingredients to create masterpiece meals. The accommodations, the food, the service were beyond compare. Every amenity, including lovely little gifts when we arrived and departed, made our stay even more special. We were lucky enough to be among only a dozen people staying here in this off-season time and we couldn’t have been happier - despite some on-and-off rainfalls. Greeted in pouring down rain at the airport with beautiful leis and bright smiles, we immediately fell into the lap of luxury as we arrived at this unequalled retreat. If you are travelling to Rapa Nui this hotel is the place to be. We consider the Explora to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in any where in the world. All activities, the explorations, are extremely well organised and in small groups of about 8-9 or less. Meals are nicely presented, breakfast and lunch, including a hot dish, are buffet and dinner served to the table. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi looked very inviting although we didn't have an opportunity to use them. The hotel building is constructed so that all rooms have a view of the sea and is very attractive, a lot of wood used. The bartender, Pablo, is a master of his craft. Service is impeccable in every aspect from reception, the restaurant, house keeping, the guides. The guides are informative and knowledgeable about the fascinating history of the island. All staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had a three night stay in a Vanua room and how I wish we had stayed a least an extra day.
